Safia graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with distinction before completing her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the same university in 2019.
Safia had her share of sports injuries growing up, including two major knee surgeries which resulted in many months of physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation. During this time, Safia realized the importance of physiotherapists and developed her passion for the profession.
Safia has worked in a variety of settings with diverse patient populations including stroke, brain injury, seniors, and athletes of all ages. Her treatment approach includes a combination of patient education, therapeutic exercise and manual therapy. She is also trained in dry needling techniques. Safia strives to help her patients build the resiliency and autonomy necessary to achieve their goals and manage their injuries in the short and long term.
When Safia isn’t at the clinic, she can be found volunteering within the community, playing ball hockey, cheering on the Oilers, exploring local coffee shops and enjoying the many events/festivals Edmonton has to offer!
