Jenny’s journey towards becoming a physiotherapist took a unique path. Having worked a number of years in a different medical profession, she was ready for a change. She discovered rehabilitation medicine through her work with oncology patients and decided to pursue physiotherapy.
Jenny provides comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments to help patients return to activities they enjoyed doing as quickly as possible. Her treatment approach includes educating and empowering patients to be actively involved in their recovery. She can provide care in both English and Cantonese.
Jenny is passionate about life-long learning and continues to advance her skills through post-graduate training. She has completed all 5 levels of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Program and is working towards obtaining the internationally recognized IFOMPT (The International Federation of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapists) designation. She has completed a musculoskeletal fellowship under the extensive mentorship of Clinical Specialist Jeff Begg. She is trained in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), the Mulligan Manual Therapy Concept, and is authorized to use needles and perform spinal manipulation in practice. She also has a special interest in cancer rehabilitation.
Outside of work, Jenny greatly values giving back to the community. Her wide range of volunteer experience includes organizing large non-profit initiatives, mentoring at an inner-city youth centre, coaching volleyball, and facilitating courses for the University of Alberta. She plans to volunteer with a medical team abroad next year. Jenny loves exploring the great outdoors with her golden retriever puppy Ellie, who is also training to be a therapy dog. Jenny is active and is a sports enthusiast. She is always on the go and ready for her next adventure.
