Irfan Ishani | Physiotherapist
Irfan received his Bachelor of Science Specializing in Psychology from the University of Alberta and his Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia. As a firm believer in lifelong education, Irfan continues to stay up to date on best practice and research in his field and has received several certifications.
Irfan’s expertise has led him to work with a diverse population including the elderly, youth, athletes, and orthopaedic patients. With sports being a huge passion, his most memorable experiences have involved training teams and being the physiotherapist for the South Australia’s Fitzroy Lions Aussie Rules Footy team, The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League Championships as well as the Canadian Ismaili Games. He has also worked with some of the top level junior tennis players in the province and country and also has experience with treating Muay Thai fighters.
Having worked in a variety of settings, his breadth of knowledge in the field allows him to work with all types of patients and in all areas of the body, including the jaw, vestibular rehabilitation, and concussion management. Additionally, he is certified in dry needling. Irfan is a proponent of building team relationships with his patients. He values the importance of listening to the patient and focuses on manual therapy and exercise. His philosophy is not only to correct the problem at hand but to also to prevent future injury.
In his free time Irfan enjoys an active lifestyle playing hockey, soccer, going to the gym and continuously developing his knowledge! A good cup of Italian coffee and pastries are a guilty pleasure.
