Dr. Shahiem Hartley comes from South Africa where he completed a pharmacy degree (BPharm), master’s degree in cardiovascular physiology (MSc) and a medical degree (MBBCh).
Upon completion of his medical degree in 2006, he worked in various fields of medicine including family medicine, infectious diseases, medical insurance, clinical pharmacology, and male medical circumcision.
Together with his wife, Dr. Rafiqa Abrahams, and their two young sons, they immigrated to Edmonton in 2017 where he has since been working as a family physician and also where his family has welcomed a third son in 2022.
Socially, Shahiem enjoys relaxing with his family, is a movie buff, and also a passionate Liverpool FC supporter.
