Dr Alex Wasserman | Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist


Dr. Alex Wasserman is a graduate of the University of Toronto medical school. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Manitoba in 2021 before joining the Body Restoration team. He will be sitting the Royal College examination for Physical Medicine and rehabilitation in the spring of 2021, and the Canadian Society of Clinical Electrophysiologists’ exam in the fall of 2021.

Dr. Wasserman’s academic interests include interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound and its applications in the treatment of complex acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and pain syndromes, the use of orthobiologics to enhance healing and function, and electrodiagnostic medicine. He is published in peer reviewed journals through his work in stroke rehabilitation and the application of platelet-rich plasma in various knee disorders. He has presented these and other works at various Canadian conferences, including the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Conference.

Dr. Wasserman is a former member of Team Canada for karate, participating in many national and international competitions. After completing a Kinesiology degree, he was a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologist-certified personal trainer in Calgary, Alberta before starting his medical education in 2012.

In his free time, Dr. Wasserman continues to actively explore the great outdoors, travel the world, get marginally better at golf, and expand his culinary horizons.
